서울에서 기차를 타고 전라도 광주에 도착했어… 광주에서는 솔직히 할 게 없었어.. >< 지도를 보면서 여기저기 걸어봤는데 좋은 운동은 된 것 같았어.. 한국에 대한 역사를 잘 몰라서 그런지 역사의거리라는 곳이 이해가 잘 가지 않았어.. 그런데 광주가 살기에 좋은 도시인 것 같아… 좀 작지만, 있어야 하는 쇼핑거리나 금용센터가 한 곳에 집중되서 편리하고 서울처럼 그렇게 복잡하지도 않아… 흐르는 광주천 옆에서 산책하거나 운동을 하면 하루의 피곤함을 사라질 수 있을 것 같았어..
taking a train from seoul, we reached jeolla province's gwangju... honestly, there's nothing much to do in gwangju... >< looking at the map, it was good exercise walking here and there... maybe due to the lack of knowledge of korea history, we didn't really understand the "history street".. still, gwangju means to be a good city to live in... though small, all the necessary shopping and finance streets are conveniently located at one place, it was also not as packed as seoul.... taking a walk along the flowing gwangju stream, or exercising beside it, it seems like a day's tiredness would just disappear like that...
광주에서는 XX의거리가 많았어.. 웨딩의거리나 예술의거리… 역사의거리.. 심지어 애완동물의거리도 있다는 건 내가 심하게 의심했어.. 거기서 봤던 멍멍이들이 너무 귀여웠어… 키우지 못 하는 게 진짜 아쉬웠어.. ㅠㅠ
in gwangju, there were many "street of XX"... "wedding street".. "art street"... "history street"... and i seriously suspect the existence of "pet street"... the puppies we saw there were just too cute.... it was a pity we couldn't bring them back... ㅠㅠ
예술의 거리를 구경하고 있었는데 갑자기 재미있는 우편함을 발견했어.. 사진을 찍고 있었는데 누군가가 말을 걸어왔어… 알고 보니 5.18민주화운동을 기념하는 차원으로 매년 5월18일에 엽서를 보내는 기념활동을 하고 있었어.. 엽서를 거낸 담당인 아저씨가 자기한테 할 말을 써 보라고 했어.. 일년후의 5월18일에 그 엽서를 발송할예정이라고 했어… 뭘 좀 써 보고 있는데 아저씨가 갑자기 고물상을 소개 해주시겠다고 하면서 옆에 있는 고물상 아저씨에게 소개시켜줬어.. 한국 고물이 다 신기하긴 했지만, 살 생각이 없어서 그냥 구경하고 나오기로 했는데 고물상 아저씨 또 갑자기 우리한테 뭘 좀 주시겠다고 하면서 옛날 조선시대의 동전을 하나씩 선물했어.. 한 200년 좀 넘어 옛날에 쓴 돈이라고 했어… 이 동전이 정말 좋은 기념품이라고 생각해.. 고물상 아저씨에게 고마운 마음을 전달하고 싶습니다.. 정말 감사합니다~ ^^
while sight-seeing on the "art street", we found an interesting postbox suddenly... while taking it's photo, someone spoke to us.. and we realize it was a commemorative event for the 5.18 gwangju democratization movement, sending out postcards on every 18th of may each year.. the ajusshi said the postcards will be sent out next year 18th may.. while writing our stuff, the ajusshi told us that he's going to introduce to another antique shop ajusshi and introduced us to him not long later... korean antiques were eye-opening but we aren't considering to get any so we decided to just get out of the shop after some sight-seeing... however, the antique shop ajusshi suddenly told us that he's going to give us something and he gave us each a Joseon dynasty coin as souvenirs.. it's said to be used 200 years ago... this coin really is a good souvenir for us... would very much like to express our thanks to the antique shop ajusshi... thank you very much~ ^^
또 이렇게 좋은 사람을 만나 추억을 만들고, 다음 여정지 제주를 향해 비해기를 타고 출발~~
meeting nice people and creating happy memories, we took the plane and headed to the next destination, Jeju ..
